The end of the registration year is approaching, and it is time to renew for the 2021-2022 year. We appreciate the feedback that our registrants provided during last year’s annual renewal and are pleased to inform you that we are offering installment payments during this year’s renewal period.

All occupational therapists (OTs) are required to renew or resign online on or before May 31, 2021. To renew, log in through the College's member login.

Installment Payments
This year, you can pay for renewal in up to 3 installments during the renewal period (March-May).

  • Start renewal by March 31, 2021 to pay in 3 installments
  • Start renewal by April 30, 2021 to pay in 2 installments

OTs who want to pay the renewal fee in full may do so at anytime during the renewal period (March 15 – May 31, 2021). Learn more about paying in installments by visiting our renewal webpage.

Taking a Leave or Resigning
If you will not be working or using the title occupational therapist (OT) in Ontario after May 31, 2021, you may choose to resign your registration. Resigning your registration means you will not be able to work as an occupational therapist or use the title occupational therapist, abbreviation, or designation OT Reg. (Ont.), in Ontario, until you are re-registered with the College.

If you maintain your registration with the College while on leave, you will be required to purchase professional liability insurance, comply with all mandatory Quality Assurance requirements, and meet professional obligations.

Important
  • OTs who do not complete their annual renewal or resign their registration by the May 31, 2021 deadline will receive notice that their registration will be suspended for non-payment of fees if fees are not paid within 30 days.
  • A late fee applies when renewal is not completed on time.
  • The College is required to publicly post all suspensions on the Public Register and employers will also be notified.

We understand COVID-19 continues to impact many aspects of our lives. If you are experiencing financial hardship because of the pandemic, please contact the registration team at [email protected] and we will discuss with you other options that may be available.
