Congratulations Heather McFarlane!
Heather McFarlane has been acclaimed as the new Council member in District 5 (Sudbury, Parry Sound, Timiskaming, Nipissing, Algoma, Cochrane and Manitoulin and Muskoka areas).
Heather brings a wealth of knowledge to Council through her experience serving on boards and advisory committees in the areas of special education, research, ethics, and autism services, and her work as an occupational therapist in the areas of pediatrics and adult seating and mobility.
Heather's three-year Council term will begin in March 2018, when she will replace current District 5 Council member Shannon Gouchie, who is completing her third three-year term.
The Council sets the strategy for the College and makes decisions to
ensure the public receives ethical, competent care from Ontario's OTs. Members of the Council represent the public interest in decision-making. The Council is made up of members of the occupational therapy profession and members of the public who are appointed by the Ontario government.
Please note, given Heather McFarlane's acclamation, there will not be an election in District 5.
All Council meetings are open to the public.
