The controlled act of psychotherapy was proclaimed on December 30, 2017.
The College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario is one of the six regulatory Colleges whose members are allowed by law to practise the controlled act of psychotherapy.
Members of the College may perform the controlled act of psychotherapy in compliance with the College Standards for Psychotherapy.
Members of the College may use the title ‘psychotherapist’ in compliance with section 33.1 of the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991.
