Ministry Guidelines for Pandemic Stockpile Use

On August 24, 2022, Ontario's Ministry of Health released an Addendum: Guidelines for Pandemic Stockpile Use

This document is an addendum to the Ministry's June 10, 2022 COVID-19 Guidance on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for Health Care Workers and Health Care Entities.

The Ministry of Health manages an emergency stockpile containing personal protective equipment (PPE) and critical supplies to support the health sector during emergencies. The Addendum: Guidelines for Pandemic Stockpile Use incorporates both COVID-19-specific as well as general information on how to access the pandemic stockpile, eligibility, product availability, and the Ethical Allocation Framework.

Occupational therapists working in independent or private practice may be eligible to access the stockpile depending on the sector in which they work.

Occupational therapists who have access to PPE through their workplace should follow their organizational policies and procedures. Please refer to both documents for more information and check the Ministry of Health's Guidance for the Health Sector website for any updates.
