On January 25, 2021, the Government of Ontario announced the provincial emergency that was declared on January 12, 2021 has now been extended until February 9, 2021.

All orders under the emergency including; Stay-at-Home Order, Enforcement of COVID-19 Measures and Residential Evictions were also extended. Orders under the Reopening Ontario (A Flexible Response to COVID-19) Act, 2020 continue to be in force.

As a reminder, the stay-at-home order requires everyone to remain at home with exceptions for essential purposes, such as going to the grocery store or pharmacy, accessing health care services, for exercise or for essential work.

There is no change to Directive 2 at this time. No further restrictions on occupational therapy practice have been announced to date. Occupational therapists and other regulated health professionals may continue to operate, consistent with current guidelines for regulated health professionals.
