We also encourage occupational therapists working in rural or remote practices and those from equity-deserving groups to apply. This includes: Indigenous, Black, LGBTQ2S+, and/or racialized, and/or those who face historic and ongoing systemic oppression due to social identities and positions including, but not limited to, race, ethnicity, dis/ability, gender, sexual orientation, and/or religion.

Committee members receive a per diem and are reimbursed for related expenses.

Practice Subcommittee: Call for 1 new Practice Subcommittee member

COTO is seeking one occupational therapist to join the Practice Subcommittee.

About the Practice Subcommittee

  • Key roles involve helping to update, revise, and develop practice documents for occupational therapists.
  • Additionally, there are other opportunities to provide feedback on practice program initiatives.

We are seeking an occupational therapist from the Ottawa/Kingston or Windsor/London area who has worked in one of the following practice settings: 

  • psychotherapy (working with adults),
  • private practice (working with all ages)

Quality Assurance Subcommittee: Call for 1 new QA Subcommittee member

COTO is seeking one occupational therapist in a clinical role to join the QA Subcommittee

About the QA Subcommittee

  • Supports the QA Committee in the development of the Quality Assurance activities and provides valued insights about occupational therapy practice in differing roles and across a variety of practice settings.
  • Makes recommendations to inform the development of the annual eLearning Modules and contributes to the development of other components of the QA program as needed.

Quality Assurance Peer Assessors

Our Quality Assurance Program is also seeking several individuals to join our team of Peer Assessors. Peer Assessors play a key role within our QA Program by:

  • conducting competency assessments and practice consultations with registrants on behalf of the College, and
  • identifying learning needs and supporting continuing competence.

There are also opportunities to provide services such as practice mentorships or practice monitoring for registrants who must complete certain education requirements.

Commitment and Compensation

  • Peer Assessors work on contract and are paid for their time at a set rate. They are asked to conduct a minimum of two (2) assessments per month during the assessment periods. Some flexibility in schedule is an asset. 
  • All assessments are done virtually.
