Registration Fees
The Board approved the plan for increasing registration fees by up to 2% annually for a maximum of 5 years, commencing next year, for the 2024/2025 registration year. For reference, a 1% increase to current fees would be $7.44 and a 2% increase would be $14.86. Registration renewal fees for the 2023/2024 registration year remain unchanged.
The College last approved a registration fee increase 15 years ago, in 2007. The College must now increase revenue to:
- sustain operations,
- keep up with the pace of the growing registrant base,
- fulfill its public protection mandate, and
- ensure it maintains the Canada Revenue Agency guidelines for unrestricted reserves.
Details of the requirements for reserves and further information regarding the proposed change are publicly available in the January 26, 2023 Board meeting package.
A public consultation on the proposed change will be held in the spring.
