Become a Professional Committee Appointtee
The College is currently recruiting 1 occupational therapist in a clinical role to become a Professional Committee Appointee and join the Quality Assurance (QA) Subcommittee.
We also encourage occupational therapists working in rural or remote practices and those from equity-deserving groups to apply. This includes: Indigenous, Black, LGBTQ2S+, and/or racialized, and/or those who face historic and ongoing systemic oppression due to social identities and positions including, but not limited to, race, ethnicity, dis/ability, gender, sexual orientation, and/or religion.
About the Committee
The Quality Assurance Subcommittee’s primary function is to provide recommendations to the Quality Assurance Committee on the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of the components of the Quality Assurance Program.
- Supports the QA Committee in the development of the Quality Assurance activities and provides valued insights about occupational therapy practice in differing roles and across a variety of practice settings.
- Makes recommendations to inform the development of the annual eLearning Modules and contributes to the development of other components of the QA program as needed.
Skills and Experience
The Quality Assurance Subcommittee is seeking applications from individuals with a broad range of skills, perspectives and expertise as outlined in the College’s Committee Competency Framework, and is particularly interested in individuals who possess specific skills and experiences as outlined below:
Ability
- Lived experience accommodating or navigating a spectrum of physical, mental health, or cognitive abilities, the knowledge of which can enhance relevant, thoughtful decisions that protect the public.
Quality Improvement
- Experience and understanding of the quality assurance and quality improvement programs and assessments in health care. Experience and knowledge in developing tools that support continuous improvement.
Research and Analytical Skills
- Experience providing evidence-based research to support a project or initiative.
Standards and Scope of Practice
- Understand the standards, competencies, and scope of practice that guide occupational therapy practice in Ontario and be able to determine where a breach or potential breach might occur.
Writing/Editing
- Experience in professional and academic writing and editing.
Eligibility requirements
Commitments and Compensation
Professional Committee Appointees receive a per diem and are reimbursed for related expenses.
- All appointments are for a three-year period
- Number of meetings per year: 4–5
- Preparation time per meeting: 1–3 hours
