Annual renewal is now open. Occupational therapists can now renew their registration for the 2024-2025 year.
All occupational therapists are required to renew or resign online on or before May 31, 2024. To renew your registration, log in to the COTO Portal.

Please note: to sign in to the new COTO Portal for the first time, you must register your account. The new COTO Portal has been available since February 7, 2024.
Account registration instructions for the new COTO Portal were emailed to all registrants and returning applicants on February 7, 2024. Reminder emails containing the instructions were also sent out on March 20, 2024. If you have not yet received instructions and/or have an urgent issue, contact [email protected].
Renewal Fees
$758.00 ($670.80 + $87.20 HST)
Taking a Leave or Resigning
If you will not be working or using the title occupational therapist (OT) in Ontario after May 31, 2024, you may choose to resign your registration.
Resigning means you will not be able to work as an occupational therapist or use the title occupational therapist, abbreviation, or designation OT Reg. (Ont.), in Ontario, until you are re-registered with the College.
If you maintain your registration with the College while on leave, you will be required to purchase professional liability insurance, comply with all mandatory Quality Assurance requirements, and meet all other professional obligations.
Important
- If you do not complete renewal or resign your registration by the May 31, 2024 deadline, you will receive notice that your registration will be suspended for non-payment of fees if fees are not paid within 30 days.
